Little Friends

Well hello! So much for posting every other day...where does the summer go when it flies this fast? Does it have some kid of pressing appointment to get to? Wait...oh yeah...WE are the ones with all those "pressing" appointments! Rats.
Summer brings out in me a youthful feeling. You all experience it, I know it! The urges to jump rope, run around, roll in the grass, get muddy, climb a tree, eat peas off the vine with dirt on them, not wipe your face or hands off all day, and laugh at everything you possibly can! Love it. The last few weeks have brought on some new little friends. My snail friends are still around...its too bad i have to displace them when I see them. but these friends are much cuter...well, almost.
Friend #1: My little neighbor friend (she is about 7 years old), came up to me yesterday and with all her cute sassiness asked me if she could help me garden so she could get exercise and learn about plants! She is SO adorable. I couldn't help but say yes. So, beginning a week from Monday, I will have an apprentice! She talks my head off whenever I see her...so I am excited to learn all about the family down stairs, and in the meantime have another pair of hands.
Friend #2: It makes me happy to tell you that my very first pumpkin of the season has popped his bald green head right out of the vine! He is adorable! Just look at those chubby cheeks!
Friend #3: Does anyone remember when I caught those Praying Mantis' back at Tony's car lot and the nasty green one ate Shakes? Well...I swear that green Mantis flew down here and it's posterity is now living in my flowerbed! I found these two little guys while weeding. I couldn't help but laugh at how small they are! Like little blades of grass! meet Frank and Ethel:
