This was a lovely cool morning to be out in the garden, but I was a bit unhappy to hear the weatherman talk of fall like temperatures. I'm certainly not ready for fall and my garden isn't either. We got such a late start that my tomatoes, corn, pumpkins, and squash are going to have a hard time producing much. There were however, happy moments as I hunted for the first new potatoes, two cucumbers, a few stragglers in the pea patch and some asparagus. I had to call Tony, a professional roguer, and find out if my sick looking potato plants were going to make everything sick. Turns out I have black leg, which will stunt the two plants but not affect anything else. It's good to have some expert advice.
